Birds Picking Flour
Saturday/Sunday - 19H00 - Jardins da Praça do Município

A solo theatre act on chinese pole.

It’s a big day for Dona Augusta. Sugar, flour, 5 eggs. You are invited. But quiet, maybe the birds are coming, too. Rising, falling, wrinkling, crinkling, trembling, waving. Smoke husching.

Inspired by Valter Hugo Maes novel “A máquina a fazer espanois” and the legend of the “caladinhos” - cookies invented by a Portuguese baker in the opposition of Salazar’s dictatorship- Sabeth Dannenberg is creating an absurd story. Transforming her body and the chinese pole she is melting acrobatics and storytelling. Combining physical theatre and new circus she is creating her own theatre language.

A physical monkey production in coproduction with Pumpenhaus Münster (DE).
In cooperation with Projeto EZ (PT)
Supported by ECCE (DE).

Concept & Performance: Sabeth Dannenberg
Cenography: João Pinto - Proketo EZ
